Attention Chess Players!

Onondaga Central Schools will again be hosting the Central New York Scholastic Chess Championships this year.  The date of this event is Sunday, March 2nd 2008.  Any player with previous chess club and / or tournament experience is encouraged to attend.  Additionally I will be holding a one-day clinic, for those players who sign up for the tournament, after school on Friday, February 29th from 2:15 – 3:15 in the Cafeteria.  Those students will take the late bus home on that day. 

If you wish to participate in the tournament please return the entry form (included) along with the bottom section of this form.  Further information regarding the tournament is included in this packet.  I will be using the money raised at last year's tournament to pay the registration fee for all participating Wheeler Students this year.

Lastly, I am in need of parent volunteers to help with putting on this event.  We expect anywhere from 120 – 150 players on that day.  With their guests we may have over 200 visitors to our district.  If you are available any time between 11:00am and 5:00pm on that day please consider helping out.  Duties typically include working the concession stand, helping on the tournament floor, and assisting with clean up at the end of the tournament.
